He has worked for Sea Ray dealerships in Florida, New Jersey, Illinois and Ohio. Bob has worn many hats over the years ranging from salesman to general manager. Bob has spent over ten years as a yacht broker in Florida. During that time he has had the opportunity to sell everything from center consoles to mega yachts. He maintains close ties with the brokerage community and has been licensed in Florida since 1991. Bob maintains that the two experiences have served him well. Working at a dealership level instills fiscal responsibility; while the brokerage experience really allows the creative juices to flow. The common denominator is customer relationships. Trust and honesty mean more that just getting the deal done. This is the yard stick that Bob likes to be measured by. </p>"

In 1979 he was employed at Kenco Pump which was owned by Herb Kates who invented the first submersible sump pump for power boats. After a short stay at Kenco Pump he started his own company in 1981 called Cabletec which was involved in the manufacturing of various products for the emerging Cable TV Industry. This industry was in its infancy stage and he sold that company in 1982 and went on to start the present company Multilink Inc. in 1983. Multilink is an international manufacturer of various mechanical and electromechanical components for the telecommunications industry. Among other businesses that Mr. Kaplan is involved in is Overbrook Farms LLC which is a construction business which specializes in land management/tenant management of property for professionals such as those in the health care field. Multifab is another company that Mr. Kaplan is involved with and they manufacture precision sheet metal. In regard to a retail background, Mr. Kaplan has been involved for over 47 years with Kaplan’s Furniture. Presently Kaplan’s Furniture has two retail locations, one in North Olmsted, Ohio, which is the largest area for furniture buying in northern Ohio. A second location is in Elyria, Ohio. Kaplan’s Furniture has been operating since 1936 and is presently managed by the management staff of Steve Kaplan. Steve Kaplan’s boating background consists of receiving his first boat which was given to him by a neighbor, the name of the boat was “Shame it don’t float.” Having a background of wood boats has propelled his interest and experience through the days of the Owens, Trojans, Chris Craft, Lyman, Mathews, Boston Whaler, Tartan sailboats, Ensign sailboats, British seagull, Evinrudes and Morgan Boats. Further, under his present company, Multilink, he previously had managed the distribution and leasing of roatecasting dock boxes for the Spitzer Marina in Lorain, Ohio. The above knowledge continues to propel his interest in seeing the area of Northern Ohio start to grow from a dealership standpoint. Take modern business practices, and couple this with strong customer service, we believe this will create a strong new opportunity which up to now has been lost. His goal for Boaters Point is to have the proper staff including those above, and a strong financial background will clearly show a need for a new dealership meeting the customer’s expectations. We believe Boaters Point meets those demands to set a new standard for this industry. </p>"
